Foothill Ranch Home Transformation

We're proud to share with everyone a transformation video for a home we represented the buyer in the transaction.

The couple, relocating from the East Coast, needed to find a home for their first born son and their soon to be born baby. After searching and searching, they finally found a home they could settle in. Of course, with many buyers, they wanted to renovate it to their liking.

We've mentioned before that we are not here to only help you on your transactions. This couple needed recommendations for a contractor to trust in. We handed them with our very short list of trusted contractors and, after a very intense interview process, they chose one! Six weeks later, here it is!

The interior was completely redone; renovated staircase, renovated kitchen, family room, living room and dining room. Whole house was completely repainted with a beautiful tone. You won't believe your eyes!

Their new furniture came in one by one and now it is complete. Let us know what you think in the comments!

The forecast for the future

Our good friend Robert Chung, Managing Principle and Portfolio Manager at Arc Capital Management, have come up with a series of slides to show the future of rate hikes. Rates have been going up and the probability of a rate hike in June have come in!

Robert said, "As of the beginning of last week, fed funds futures were pricing in a 60%+ chance of a rate hike in June. However, as of last night, the odds have dropped to a mere 43%."

So what is causing this? How can a 60%+ chance of a rate hike drop almost 20%? Here is what Robert believes are the reasons.

1. Weak inflation numbers (CPI declined 0.3%, first decline in a year). Remember, raising interest rates is used to curb the velocity of money in the market. A bit more complicated, but when interest rates go up, people are inclined to deposit and save their money, as opposed to spending it.
2. March job numbers were kind of blah. Take a look at the attached labor market reports so far that were released this month. A lot of numbers missed economists' projections.
3. And back to the Donald... so far, none of his promised infrastructure and tax reforms have materialized.

All of these factors plus the geopolitical tensions around the world have led to the recent weakness in US markets.

Rates will eventually go up. Don't miss your chance in purchasing your dream home at an affordable rate !

Drought tolerant plants for your home!

California has been dealing with one of the worst droughts in history. Rain has been extremely scarce and the snow caps have been bare. Due to this emergency, California has issued a statewide water conservation act. Homeowners have been getting fined for watering their lawns excessively and, some counties, gave homeowners specific days when watering the lawn was ok.

California homeowners have done an awesome job in conserving water for the greater good thus far. Then the surprise came. California gets pummeled by storms for a few months. Water is everywhere, town are flooded, snow caps are white again, and the reservoirs are practically full! We have water again!

Of course, this doesn't mean we should all go crazy and flood our lawns with water. If this drought taught us one thing is that drought tolerant plants are sexy and they bring their own beautiful aesthetic to our yards.

Start off the new year right by planting some drought tolerant plants in your yard! You don't have to go big right away and tear apart your yard. Take it one step at a time and start switching from water thirsty to drought tolerant. Lets all be responsible homeowners and switch over to drought tolerant landscapes!

A home is not just a home. A home, as an object, is merely four walls and a roof. A home in its deepest sense is much more than that.

A newly married couple searching for their dream home. That home, as an object, is merely four walls and a roof. In its deepest sense is a form of security. The uncertainty of what the future holds for the newlyweds is comforted by a home which is security they need.

That couple becomes parents and bring their child to their home. That home, as an object, is merely four walls and a roof. In its deepest sense is a form of security. That child, being brought into this world, does not know of the hardship and the pleasures that await. A child, with all its vulnerabilities, rely on the home as its shelter, security, and the beginning of the journeys to come.

That child grows up and goes to college. To the parents, they are letting go of their baby. To the child, they are leaving their child like wonders and heading out into the world. That home, as an object, is merely four walls and a roof. In its deepest sense is a form of security. The joy that infused the home during the years become the security for the family. The excitement of positive change and the celebrations of overcoming milestones are all infused in that home. That home becomes the safe haven for that family throughout the worlds ups and downs.

A home is never just four walls and a roof. A home in its deepest sense is much more than that. A home is the security we all seek. A home brings a sense of optimism we all seek. A home is not just four walls and a roof. Its a part of the family and our lives.

What does home mean to you? What has your home brought for you and your family?
